Iowa Central will play host to 45 high school bands from across the state when the 10th Annual Triton Jazz Festival takes place January 11-13.
The festival will include bands from 1A through 4A schools, with 1A and 3A performance taking place on Wednesday, January 11; 2A bands on Thursday, January 12; and 4A bands on Friday, January 13.
Due to renovations in Decker Auditorium and the Instrumental Music areas on the Iowa Central Campus, this year’s festival will take place at the Best Western Starlite Village, 1518 3rd Ave NW in Fort Dodge.
Each band will have a warm up time, 25-minute set up/performance/tear down and a session with a clinician following the performance. Bands will perform for a panel of three jazz adjudicators and have clinic with an experienced jazz educator in a separate area. The festival is sanctioned by the Iowa High School Music Association and results will be provided to the Iowa Jazz Championships for wild card qualification considerations.
