The Badger Lake Dragon Boat Bash is one of the premier community events in Fort Dodge. The event is a fun filled, family friendly weekend that includes everything from a rock concert on the beach to the thrill of community teams competing in the centuries old Chinese sport of dragon boat racing. It’s the perfect mix of community building and team building, not to mention a ton of fun.

Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Badger Lake Kennedy Park

Highlighting this summer’s celebration is the Band K.  Their signature style has become synonymous with a diverse collection of classic rock and country.

Team Dinner, Children’s Activities, Presentation of Colors, Introduction of Teams & Awakening of the Dragon Ceremony – All part of Friday night’s celebration.

Saturday, August 13, 2022

Beginning at 7:00 am Badger Lake Kennedy Park Start Saturday morning off with the Lions Club Pancake Breakfast. Racing starts as 8:00 am and  will go on through out the day. Each race will consist of one 300 meter heat. All teams will compete in at least 1 time trial race.  The teams will be ranked based on total times of time trial race/races and grouped into divisions based on those rankings.  The top teams in each division will compete for divisional championships.

A Breast Cancer Survivor Ceremony precedes the divisional racing championship and the day ends with the Awards Ceremony.

A large array of food and drink will be available.  Alcoholic beverages are not permitted to be brought on site. Beer will be available for purchase
