City of Webster City welcomes Ariel Bertran as Community Development Director

The City of Webster City is pleased to announce the hiring of Community Development Director, Ariel Bertran. She started her new role on Monday and will oversee the building inspection, community development, planning and zoning operations for the city.

“I am very pleased to have Ariel join our team and serve her community,” said City Manager Daniel Ortiz-Hernandez. “Ariel’s passion for Webster City and desire to see it continue to be a great place to raise a family was evident in speaking with her. The Community Development Director is an important role in the community. Having someone like Ariel who knows the community, shares a desire to see Webster City continue to move forward, and has a deep sense and willingness to continue to grow and learn as building codes, laws, community development practices, and the needs of the community change over time will be invaluable to the City and the community.”

Ariel is an Iowa native who grew up in Jefferson, Iowa and moved to Webster City to complete her high school education.  She holds an Associate’s Degree in Travel and Hospitality/Business Administration and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from AIB College of Business.

Ariel enjoys making memories with her husband and three young children, spending time outdoors, traveling, serving the community and attending local community events. She has been involved in Webster City as a board member of the Webster City Chamber of Commerce since 2020 and served as the Board President in 2021.

Ariel has previously served as the Vice President of Retail and Marketing for Webster City Financial Bank.  She brings an extensive background in customer service, community outreach and engagement, relationship building and marketing.  Please join us in welcoming Ariel Bertran to the Webster City team!
