Carl Rhoer Ice Skating Rink to open this weekend

Webstercity

City of Webster City recently issued the following announcement.

The Webster City Recreation and Public Grounds Department would like to announce the Carl Rhoer Ice Skating Rink at Nokomis Park (North Des Moines Street) will be opening on January 8th.

The hours the shelter will be open are from 1 PM to 6 PM on Saturday and Sunday afternoons. There is no cost to use both the rink and to borrow ice skates that are available in the shelter.

During the week (Monday through Thursday evenings) the hours will be announced depending on the number of persons who volunteer to supervise the skating rink/shelter. Currently there are no volunteers to staff the warming shelter Monday through Thursday evenings from 5 PM to 8 PM. Please contact Larry Flaws at Fuller Hall if you are interested in volunteering your time.

With weather conditions changing on a daily basis, please call Fuller Hall at 832-9193 to make sure the skating rink is open. A special thank you to Jim Mitchell & Chuck Stanfield for volunteering to make the ice.
