City of Humboldt issued the following announcement.
Humboldt, Iowa, population 4,792 is seeking a high-quality candidate with strong, energetic, and visionary leadership skills to serve as their next City Administrator. Humboldt is a small and safe community located in north central Iowa, just about 20 minutes from Fort Dodge and Algona, Iowa or 115 miles northwest of Des Moines, Iowa or 163 miles southwest of Minneapolis, Minnesota. The City Administrator has 7 direct reports. There is a total of thirty (30) full-time employees. The annual operating budget is approximately $11 Million. The successful candidate will have experience with economic development, budgeting, and financial management, strategic planning, and be an ethical, creative, responsive and a teambuilder. The next City Administrator shall be a skilled communicator.
Education
- A bachelor's degree is required with coursework in public administration, business management, law, political science, accounting, finance, business management or administration, economics, or related field
Experience
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience managing municipal government operations or comparable organizations; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
- $90,000 to $110,000 annually, depending upon qualifications
