Democratic Candidate Charles Clayton lost his election bid for District 9 House seat and conceded defeat to Republican incumbent Ann Meyer.
He congratulated Meyer on her win and also thanked voters for their support.
“Moments ago, I contacted Rep. Ann Meyer to congratulate her on her re-election,” he posted on his official Facebook campaign page. “....While these results are not what we hoped for… I am extremely grateful to the volunteers and supporters who gave their time or a few dollars and fought alongside us. I am proud of each of you.”
Clayton went on to express his gratitude for those who supported his campaign.
“I am extremely grateful to the volunteers and supporters who gave their time or a few dollars and fought alongside us. I am proud of each of you, and I hope you know that our community is better for your work,” he said.
