Webster County Supervisors recently approved a letter of withdrawal presented by the County Social Services (CSS).
The letter was sent amid legislation that would allow Webster County to switch its mental health and disability service region while at the same time retaining $1.6 million in reserve funds.
Bob Thode, who is one of the supervisors, was the only “nay” in the group who conducted a voice vote on the issue.
“I’ve had little problem with it until this point,” Thode said in the meeting. “Until we talk to CICS, I’m not against it, but I want questions answered before.”
One of Thode's concerns is about whether Webster County would secure a mental health access center with CICS.
However, many of the supervisors are in opposition to Thode's views on the issue. Campbell, one of the other supervisors commented on Thode's comment to The Messenger.
“That’s not true at all,” Campbell told The Messenger in opposition of Thode's comments.
