The VA Central Iowa Health Care System is looking to fill a number of temporary positions during the coronavirus pandemic.

WHO Radio News reports that the Des Moines-based veterans hospital needs anesthesiologists, a biomedical equipment support specialist, a certified registered nurse anesthetist, clinical pharmacists, health technicians, housekeeping assistants, intermediate care technicians, licensed practical nurses, medical support assistants, nursing assistants, nurse practitioners, pharmacy technicians, physicians, physician assistants, registered nurses, registered respiratory therapists, and supply technicians.

Federal Employee Health Benefits will be available to individuals who work for at least 120 days. Recent retirees who are hired and have experience in high-need areas may receive dual compensation waivers which will enable them to earn annuities while obtaining full employment compensation.

Central Iowa Health Care System is also looking for nurse practitioners and registered nurses for 120-day appointments with the Travel Nurse Corps, a VA-operated internal pool of NPs and RNs that engage in temporary short-term assignments throughout the country.
