The Republican Party of Iowa Chairman Jeff Kaufmann recently released a statement on the impeachment proceedings.

“Democrats continue to show Americans they are not interested in working on issues that matter, like passing USMCA (United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement), securing the border, and maintaining our booming economy. Instead, they will do whatever it takes to nullify the votes of millions of Americans in their desperate attempts to undo the 2016 election results,” Kaufmann said in a Nov. 13 release.

“Iowans see through the Democrats’ latest partisan witch hunt, and they will continue to support this president as he remains focused on Keeping America Great,” he added.

Many Iowa farmers view the USMCA as an important opportunity for improving the economic outlook for agriculture.

According to a Nov. 21 story posted on Politico, “House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said Thursday that she doubts Congress has enough time left to pass the USMCA this year, but Democrats and the Trump administration will continue talks next week to work out a compromise on remaining issues.”
