The Test Iowa program is providing access to more COVID-19 testing across the state to help keep up with the rising cases and test demand.

Test Iowa was implemented to allow less restrictive access to coronavirus testing, with their site showing about 80% of people testing positive have minor to no related symptoms.

Since the opening of the test sites, testing has gone from a few hundred to more than 7,400 at the end of June, with most of the positive cases ranging in adults ages 18-40.

“While our volume of tests are in good supply,” Gov. Kim Reynolds said according to Iowa Public Radio. “We are considering different ways to adjust operations at some of our testing sites and at the State Hygienic Lab so that we can further expand capacity and meet the demands of Iowans who want to be tested.”

Test sites open and close according to viral activity in an area. To find out more and to sign up for testing you can take an assessment and schedule an appointment here
